What Is a Single-Drum Dryer?
A single-drum dryer is a rotary drying machine consisting of a large inclined rotating cylinder, a heating unit and a feeding and discharging system. Wet material is fed into the upper end of the rotating drum and is continuously lifted and tumbled by internal flights, exposing it to the hot air stream so that moisture is evaporated and carried away with the exhaust gas. In parallel-flow operation, the material moves in the same direction as the hot air, allowing gentle and efficient drying of heat-sensitive materials. The dried material is discharged from the lower end of the drum, and the final moisture content can be controlled by adjusting the drum speed, feed rate and inlet air temperature, making the single-drum dryer a reliable and economical solution for large-scale drying of granular bulk materials.
