Product description
Product Overview
Cyclone Powder Classifier, also known as the third-generation classifier, is an energy-saving air classification equipment. It generates circulating airflow via its internal fan. Based on the principles of centrifugal force and aerodynamic force, it accurately separates powdery materials (such as cement raw meal, cement, coal powder, mineral powder, etc.) according to particle size. Fine powder is collected as finished product, while coarse powder returns to the mill for re-grinding.
Working Principle
1. Dispersion and Feeding: Material to be classified is fed from the top and falls onto the rotating spreading disc. Under centrifugal force, the material is evenly thrown and dispersed to form a uniform material curtain.
2. Classification Zone: Upward airflow (primary air and secondary air) generated by the circulating fan passes through the material curtain. Fine particles, with low mass and relatively high air resistance, are carried upward by the ascending airflow into the core classification zone composed of guide vanes and rotor (cage rotor).
- Guide Vanes: Generate a stable horizontal swirling flow for airflow and materials.
- Rotor: The high-speed rotating cage creates a strong centrifugal force field. Qualified fine powder (kept in force balance and drawn into the cage by airflow) passes through the gaps between cage blades and enters the central air outlet pipe.
- Coarse particles, featuring large mass and strong centrifugal force, are thrown outward and fall into the lower cone.
3. Collection: After exiting the central air outlet pipe, the fine-powder-laden airflow enters multiple cyclone separators arranged around the equipment (hence the name "cyclone type"). Inside the cyclone barrels, fine powder is separated under centrifugal force and discharged from the bottom as finished product. The cleaned air is exhausted from the top of cyclone barrels, sucked by the circulating fan and delivered back to the classification zone to form a closed circuit circulation.
4. Coarse Powder Handling: Separated coarse powder is discharged from the lower cone and conveyed back to the mill for re-grinding by conveying equipment (e.g., elevator).
Product Features
1. High Classification Efficiency: The forced vortex field formed by the cage rotor and guide vanes is stable and intense, delivering high classification precision. It effectively reduces coarse particles in finished products and fine particles in return material (minimizing over-grinding).
2. Remarkable Energy Saving: Compared with open-circuit systems or early-generation classifiers, qualified fine powder can be extracted in a timely manner. This avoids the cushioning effect and over-grinding inside the mill, raises the output of the grinding system and cuts power consumption per unit product.
3. Easy Fineness Adjustment: Product fineness (specific surface area or sieve residue) can be adjusted flexibly and continuously simply by changing the rotating speed of the cage rotor, without shutdown.
4. Large Throughput & Compact Layout: High integration and relatively small floor space.
5. Negative-pressure Operation & Eco-friendly: The system runs under negative pressure with low dust leakage for a clean working environment.
Applications
As one of the core equipment in modern grinding industry, the cyclone powder classifier is widely applied in:
- Cement Industry: Classification for closed-circuit cement mills and raw meal mills, the most common application scenario.
- Non-metallic Mineral Processing: Ultrafine classification of limestone, quartz, ground calcium carbonate, kaolin and other materials.
- Metallurgy & Mining: Classification and ultrafine processing of slag powder and fly ash.
- Chemical Industry: Particle size classification of various powdery chemical raw materials.
